Growing up in the East End of London alongside the the boom of Pirate Radio, it didn’t take Perry K long to get hooked on the sounds of House Music, thanks to his Youth worker Ray & Uncle who used to play the sounds of Centreforce and Sunrise. This led Perry to a love of Music at a very early age buying 7” versions of Technotronic ‘Pump up the Jam’ & Candi Staton ‘You Got The Love’, pathing his way, musically.
As an avid listener of pirate stations including Weekend Rush, Pulse, Kool and Eruption (which at the time were playing Hardcore, Rave and eventually Jungle), Perry started to collect vinyl scouring across London/Essex’ Record shops to pick up the latest music every weekend.
After spending a couple of years collecting & learning to mix on Soundlab DLP’s, Perry finally purchased the legendary 1210’s and the bug for DJing took off spending every spare minute mixing and recording mix tapes.
His 1st Break came at Bagleys around March 1998 playing a mixture of Oldskool & what is now considered Classic House.
Through the rave scene, Perry was given his first pirate radio break on a short lived station called Taboo on 107.8FM. The authorities wouldn’t let them stay on for long & ended up in contact with Eruption 101.3 which lead to numerous DJing at Raves playing for every big rave in including Raindance (Resident), Moondance (resident 2001-2004). These also led to Perry DJing in Europe a few times.
During these times Perry was also DJing under 2 alias’s of Isotonic Crew (with MC Ice & DJ Lukozade) playing a mixture of Oldskool, Jungle & Breaks as well producing 2 tracks, and also as Filth Monkeys (with Lukozade) playing Dirty & Electro House.
During this time Perry also DJ’d on Chillin 102fm playing Soulful & Funky House.
Perry took a break from DJing due to work & family commitments but is now back and hungry again with a lots of fresh ideas lined up for the future, including interviews & production – keep those eyes & ears peeled!
