Centreforce radio almost breaks the internet and raises over £37K for NHS Charities

This weekend London wide DAB station 883 Centreforce Radio teamed up with legendary promoters Clockwork Orange, for the Ultimate Clockwork House Party.

Featuring  DJs David Morales, Roger Sanchez, Full intention, Alex P, Jeremy Healy and more all broadcasting live 1 hour sets from their home studios.

Danny Swallow from Centreforce ” We know everyone’s banged up at home and we wanted to do something a bit better than just Facebook streams from DJ’s bedrooms, it was a last minute thing really, we only got it completely locked in on Tuesday night”

The party started at 8 AM Saturday, and that’s when Danny’s phone started to ring constantly.  ” By 8-30 am we were at capacity on our stream, 300,000 listeners, everyone else was locked out, we then went to unlimited and we almost immediately jumped to over a million”

“It just kept going up”

Jonny C Technology Manager..

“It was mad, the demand seemed insatiable, we ended up running concurrent Facebook and Mixcloud streams on top of our Centreforce and Clockwork Orange stream, everything went down at some point, it was a battle all day to keep up, the only thing I didn’t have to worry about was our DAB”

“WhatsApp was delivering 20 messages at a time, we ended up with over 400 messages per hour”

Commercial Manager, Darren Clack mentioned “We not only gave back to our loyal Centreforce Family we welcomed the Orange army to our listenership, together its a strong team, which benefits the Station, our listeners and our advertisers”

The event raised £37,000 for NHS staff and volunteers caring for COVID 19 patients.

“We know everyone’s hard up at the moment so we didn’t hammer people to donate, so to raise nearly 40k quite casually shows just how amazing our listeners are” said Danny.
