Danielle Montana has been DJ’ing since the 80s and has been acknowledged as one of the most influential artists in the Dance music scene
Danielle Montana is one of the first female DJs to emerge from the British dance music scene with her historic and upfront sound in House music diversity.
Danielle is the first and youngest female DJs to play Underground Acid House music in the UK at the age of 16. Developing her sound and keeping ahead of the times she has been at the forefront of the House music evolutions and continues to bring innovative sounds to the scene with every performances.
Danielle has adjourned venues and clubs around the world seeing her perform in some of the worlds most exclusive clubs in Ibiza, Berlin, Holland, Mexico, Ireland, Italy Czechoslovakia, Poland, Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Spain to name but a few and not forgetting Tenerife for Centreforce week long Festival.
Danielle old school set was dropped in venues such as Car Wash, Crowland Road, Clink Street as well as playing at some of the worlds largest rave
events: World Dance, Fantazia, Hacienda, Astoria, Raindance, Awakenings, Helter Skelter, Genesis, Energy to name a few.
Danielles has contributed to the British sound of House with several chart hits in the Dance scene as well as in the national charts over the years. One part of Bass Construction Danielle has hit the charts with songs ‘Dance With Power’ ‘Check How We Jam’ and with Gem for Gems ‘Lifting Me Higher – Peak Energy Mix’ a classic Big Room song to date which, featured a mix by the infamous DJ Tall Paul.
Danielle also saw many releases on labels such as ‘Elicit Records’ and Ruff City’.
One part of the production duo ‘AphroDan’ a collaboration with Drum & Bass DJ, producer, and label owner Aphrodite, which saw the release of ‘Strut’ featuring the British top female actress and MC, Jenny Bean. Strut was so innovative at the time of its release that it made the cover mount for Mixmag Ibiza Summer Edition upon its release. Danielle’s collaborations led to numerous releases on 8 Ball Records and Chill Records over the years.
Danielle has been the support act for the Aphrodite tour in Mexico for the British Consulate and featured on prime time television and radio discussing women in the industry and education. She has appeared on panels for Data Transmission alongside Miss Represent and Sarah Polonsky. She has also sat on the panel for the conference ‘Future of Radio’ in Bristol alongside Eats Everything and Sarah Story.
Her radio began with Centreforce, which led to regular shows on Kiss Fm. Kiss
TV network, Radio 1, 1Xtra, AFM (Holland), MTV (UK), Padova Radio (Italy) as well as a
support guest on radio and TV on Mexico’s National Network. Danielle was featured on Rinse FM for her lifetime works in the Dance Industry.
Current day Danielle has done a full circle, as Centreforce Radio DAB re-launch where she has a very popular Drive Time Show 4-6pm every Thursday. Danielle fans have dubbed her the ‘Queen of Centreforce’ for which she is humbled.
In recent years Danielle had performed in the UK in clubs such as M.O.S, Egg, Fabric, E1, Oval Space, Clockwork Orange and of course Centreforce events. In 2023 Danielle is set to perform in Turin Italy, Tenerife, Spain as well as several events in London and the surrounding counties.
She is also recognised for her contribution in the publishing world as reviewer and writer for several titles and is mentioned as top female DJ in several book releases published by Virgin. And most recently was featured in a book alongside 100 women recognised for their contribution to house music around the world ‘Lady of the House’ released in 2022
