Wattsie is a DJ from London with a deep love for House & Garage.
He grew up listening to tapepacks of all early garage events and was a follower of heartless crew on the pirate radio scene when they were on Mission fm. It was these early days that Wattsie developed a real passion for music and the art of Djing, hungry to know what it was all about.
Although it wasn’t until he realised a guy from school had his own turntables and would often go round to his house to watch an learn and thats when real hunger took over.
Wattsie finally got his own set of decks back in 1999 and started to build up a vast collection of house & garage vinyl and begun his journey. His début on radio was on Temptation Fm, with his, then crew, ”the Lyrikal Lords” ,when he left school he went on Flava Fm. Wattsie then got the bug for the pirate radio scene, but 2009 was a turning point for him when he joined the Legendary Phatbeats, starting off with a show that lasted a few hours then he embarked on the Marathon shows which went on for six, sometimes eight hours, earning him the well deserved title of ”Marathon man” on the station (Big up AK Steppa lol).
Wattsie’s main influences during his career have been the Heartless Crew and the one and only DJ EZ, Carl Cox Fatboy Slim and over the years he has worked with some of the best DJs and MCs in the world.
Although radio is close to his heart, he has played out at many venues in and around London including X zone bar in Enfield, Legends in Barking, Edwards/Yates/Time and Envy/Liquid and Envy/Buddha Lounge/Brannigans/club Ciroc/Kosho/Hollywoods all in Romford and also the End and Sound London.
After spending two summers in club heaven Albufeira Portugal he is officially the resident Dj playing along special guest Djs Laidback Luke, Fredde Le Grand, Pete Tong, Mastiksoul, Gregor Salto, Dj Ez, Matt Jam Lamont, and Artful Dodger to name a few.
In August 2018 offered Wattsie was offered a guest mix on a Friday night on Centreforce Radio this was a big deal for Wattsie having had close connections to the station growing up. So to get the chance to become part of the setup was a set that had to be of the highest level to stand out after few weeks went by and the station settled in to life on DAB the new studio was ready an watts was given a full time show and has not looked back.
